Has anybody seen the movie "The Danish Girl " ?
by smiddy ini watched it today and i truly enjoyed it .to me it was truly an emotional journey for what this young man went through .. i had tears rolling down my face for half the movie which goes for 2 hours.
eddie redmayne deserves an oscar for his performance and so does the woman playing his wife alicia vikander , based on a true story.. in my heyday as a witness i probably would have turned it off and banned it from my home .. it`s an amazing journey life takes you after exiting a cult religion .. smiddy.

The moral of the story? Never let your wife dress you as a woman to paint you. I read about the true life story, quite different than the movie based on a fictional account of the characters. It does have Oscar written all over it. Anytime someone takes a crack at a wildly odd or unusual character they seem to win. I will probably try to watch it eventually, but then I went to an art-house theater and watched "My Own Private Idaho" with River Phoenix and Keaunu Reeves back when. I was an active witness. A rebel obviously. -

Woof Woof. I just visited an 88 yr old witness lady and commented that song 142 was pretty jumpy and that I heard people were swinging and swaying to it. Her comment? With a big smile, "How could you not?"
So, not all the old sisters are as ready to jump ship as the 11 in the OP. That's why I'm calling BS. Join the pack and win a prize. Eternal life in a Paradise game refuge. The dog will lay down with the lamb.

Slimboy I'm with you. I was waiting for the marching band to come through the living room with a banner saying, "I'm never donating again, how about you?" OP reads like something Goebbels would write, a little bit too much to be 100% accurate. Oh well, we can dream. -

Its an example of how the pseudo intellectual aspect of JW's is now morphing into primarily emotional appeal. Happy Shiny People. -

That sister has been around enough to know these ass hat clowns are blowhards and really what can they do to her? Make her stop pioneering? I doubt that would bother her. They can't delete her from any other privileges for being authentic. Dolts. -

Slightly different approach - JW my tradition
by closed inhello everybody :) i have been visiting this forum for some time.

i was awaken with a bang.

Closed, it sounds as if your family are all in the cult and you have too much invested to leave it. That's not too much different than many here. I think the difference is you may not have experienced some of the things others have which make them aggressive, ie: family being cruel, blood sacrifice of children or family or financial ruin because of some criminal "brother". Worst of all you haven't experienced the sexual abuse of your child or self by "the most loving people on earth". I don't know though, 20 years is a long time not to be screwed by some loving brother. Its your choice and it sounds as if you won't take any BS from these guys. Without any intellectual tie to the doctrines of the WT you will eventually drop out I am sure. Stay safe and don't bleed to death!

Hello, this is my first post
by noralee inhello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.
that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.
that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

now is free
has come to see
we ain't bad
tee hee.
Dumb I know but what the heck. Very pleased for you and looking forward to your sharing more info that others will benefit from. Don't be so hard on yourself. We were told to be like children when we studied because children are humble. Well, we know what they allow to happen to children. Its no wonder they abused us spiritually.

Umbertoecho here.
by umbertoecho inhello people.. i'm tired and a bit sick at the moment but i can't let anyone think that this is going to go away.... i am able to tell you a few things in order to prevent any confusion in the minds of those who are thinking that nothing will come of this arc;that nothing will effect the wtbts in america and other places.. i have been there and given my testimony.
helen milroy and her assistants were there along with another group of people who are there to lend assistance if you crack up at any time during or after the hearing.
i did not crack up but can see how this happens.. security is tight and anonymity is sacred to them as they want to protect all who come forward.

You must be compensated for the help you have sought and any future counseling obviously needed as this all heats up. Strength and determination to you in your fight. Though its not your motive I hope you get a wad of cash.
